Short Bio
I landed feet-first onto this awesome planet a little ways back before Rock n Roll & here I am today well into retirement years and absolutely lovin' it!
I have lived through what I think is some of the best music in the modern era. Yepper, wouldn't trade it for the world!
My parents had an RCA Victor console that played radio, 78, 33 1/3 & 45 rpm records. We had plenty of good music in the house.
My first recollection of a live performance was at a country fair in the early to mid-50s. There were plenty of animals and I have always loved animals, but .... what really caught my attention was the stage ahead and these young guys were playing guitars and singing.
I think something happened to my blood in that moment 'cause music's sure been in it ever since! Yeah Man!!
I love writing in general; focusing mainly on songs for now, maybe an autobiography & a family documentary down the road a piece.
One never knows what the future will bring ... or leave behind.
Now as far as songs go, I write in multiple genres. I love most all types of music so have been influenced by nearly everything I've heard all through the years to date.
I try to write with simplicity in mind, but, on occasion I'll throw a curve ball just to make a song more interesting or add color. The topics range from Funny, Stupid, Crazy, Idiotic, Rock-n-Roll, Blues, Blues-Rock, Country, Country-Rock, Folk, Americana & whatever else comes to mind.
Please note:
~~ Due to what's been happenin' in America, especially in more recent years, I am focusing a good portion of my writing in the areas of politics, religion, social, economic, racial, hatred, bullying, rape, human trafficking, child abuse, antisemetism, white supremacy, the legal system, guns & abortion issues to name a few. ~~
"What is there to write about?" I've been asked.
My answer is, "What is there not to write about?"
Some of my favorite music goes back to the 20s, 30s & 40s. I am particularly influenced by various vocal groups & solo artists of the 50s & 60s as well as bands & artists such as the Beatles (of course & each Beatle individually), the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Credence Clearwater Revival (CCR), Tom Petty (& The Heartbreakers), Eric Clapton, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan, The Traveling Wilburys, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Kris Kristofersen, Willie Nelson, Paul Simon, Simon & Garfunkel, Dolly Parton, Billie Eilish, Finneas O'Connell, Hank Williams, James Taylor, Carole King, Chuck Berry, Everly Brothers, Carly Simon, Barbra Streisand to name a few. There are many, many more!
